Super Smash Bros. Brawl is a game for Nintendo's Wii, released in 2008.
This is the third game from the Super Smash Bros. series, and for the first time in the series,
it includes third party characters, including Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog.
Characters and Cameo'sEdit
Sonic is a playable character, and is the fastest character in the game. His Final Smash, a special attack not unlike a Finishing move, is turning into Super Sonic, where he can fly around the stage at high speed, damaging any enemy who touches him. He also has his own stage, Green Hill Zone, based on the first act of his first game. Tails, Knuckles,Blaze, and Silver can be seen running in the background.
Shadow the Hedgehog is also featured as an Assist Trophy, an item that helps the character in their fight; when summoned, he uses his Chaos Control ability, slowing down everyone except the summoner.
Dr. Eggman has a not-so-popular place in the game: an unlockable sticker. Blaze the cat also makes an appearence as a earnable trophy.
Nintendo asked Sega to put Sonic in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, but Sega refused at first. But near the end of the game's development, Sega finally agreed. Which could be why Sonic appeared very late in Story Mode and why the game was delayed.
Sonic the hedgehog and Nintedo character Mario have an intense rivalry. This may be true but no one knows for sure. Being the mascots of two rival componies people just suspected. There may be other rivalries such as Yoshi and Tails but, no one is positive yet.
