Gameplay

Players must guide either AiAi, MeeMee, Baby or GonGon through a series of platform based mazes to get to the goal.

The game can be controlled by either using traditional D-pad controls, or by using the DS stylus to do as the title suggests; touching and rolling the ball.

Unlike previous titles, Touch & Roll allows users to select a stage after picking their monkey rather than tackling a series of progressively harder stages.

Party Games

Like all Super Monkey Ball games, Touch & Roll contains multiplayer party games as well as the main maze campaign. These all require the touch screen controls, and Monkey Wars and Monkey Hockey can be played using the Nintendo DS' multicart game option, letting players without the game to experience the two new Party Game titles.

• Monkey Race: A classic race around a track with your monkeys, using power ups to slow down opponents or give your own monkey an advantage.
• Monkey Fight: A top down arena battle where players roll their monkeys around and use springloaded boxing gloves to try and knock each other off the platform.
• Monkey Golf: A golf game where the monkeys act as the golf ball.
• Monkey Bowling: A bowling game where the monkeys must knock down pins.
• Monkey Wars (New): A FPS style game where the Monkeys must attack one another whilst roaming around a maze trying to find each other.
• Monkey Hockey (New): An air hockey game using the Monkey Ball as the puck.

Trivia

• This was the first entry to showcase the modern designs for AiAi, MeeMee and GonGon. Baby's design was tweaked at a later date to include his goggles and pale blue fur.
• This is the only entry in which sprites were used for the monkeys.
