The Nintendo DS is Nintendo's fifth handheld gaming console (not including the Virtual Boy), and the second Nintendo handheld supported by Sega. It was the first Nintendo handheld in over a decade not branded with "Game Boy", the first Nintendo gaming console (home or handheld) to feature Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, and the second Nintendo handheld with dual-screens (the first being the Game & Watch). It was first released on November 21, 2004 in North America.
