Today at Sega we can proudly announce upcoming release of The House of the Dead: Overkill, which will be hitting stores in early 2009. Exclusively for the Wii, The House of the Dead: Overkill is an all new is an all new pulp horror reinvention of one of Sega's classic franchises, jam-packed with arcade style shooting, over-the-top gore and a whole lot of zombies!
As the prequel to the previous House of the Dead titles, this new game will stay true to the original gameplay elements that made the series so famous, along with including a range of cool new features. Harking back to zombie movies that terrified audiences back in the 70s and 80s, The House of the Dead: Overkill will have a stunning retro look, with distinctive graphics, sound and attitude that's certain to thrill fans of the genre and rookies alike. Furthermore, with the unique handling of the Wii remote, players will be able to engage in hand to hand fighting with the zombie hordes, as well as maintaining the traditional shoot 'em up elements of its predecessors.
The House of the Dead: Overkill takes you back to when Special Agent G was fresh out of the academy. Teaming up with hard boiled Detective Washington, the young rookie is sent to investigate stories of mysterious disappearances in small-town Louisiana. Little do they know what blood soaked horrors await them in the streets and surrounding swamps of Bayou City...
