DVD (Digital Versatile Disc) is a optical disc media format, first released in 1995. The first game console to support it was the PlayStation 2, first released in Japan on March 4, 2000. The Xbox was the next to support it, only coming out just over a year later.
Consoles to support DVDEdit
The Wii, released in 2006, uses a Wii Optical Disc, which is based off DVD technology, but isn't a DVD.
