Cube is a member of the GG's and alongside Combo are the characters that drags them into an all out war with the Rokkaku Group.

Appearance[]

Cube is a slim woman with a gothic aesthetic. She has short black hair swept to the side, and pinned back with two white hair clips. She wears blue lipstick, and has a tattoo on her stomach around her belly button. She has a red tattoo on her right bicep.

In the American and European version she wears a black midriff exposing sleeveless top, with fingerless biker gloves, a black choker, a thick chunky belt with a skull buckle on it. She wears three quarter length pants and has black and white rollerblades.

In Japan, Cube wears the same thing but her top is different with a gray t-shirt over a black long sleeve shirt with red flame decals on it.

In Jet Set Radio Future, Cube is largely the same although her tattoos are different, her top is now a cutoff sleeves top exposing more skin, her black gloves are no longer fingerless and her three quarter length pants have a red streak down the side of them along the seam.

History[]

Jet Set Radio[]

In Jet Set Radio, Cube and her friend Combo, are first seen arriving at the GG's HQ with a challenge, much like characters like Yoyo, Garam or Mew but unlike in those cases Combo and Cube want to join the GG's, forcing the player to play as Cube and Combo as they take on Gum and Beat's challenges to prove their worth.

After beating Gum and Beat, Beat allows them to join but asks them why they were so desperate to join the crew.

Combo reveals that he, Cube and their friend Coin had all once been a part of their own gang, when they discovered their turf had been taken over by the Golden Rhino Signs.

On top of this, assassins had been sent after them and worst of all their friend Coin had been kidnapped. Combo and Cube had set out to try and find out what happened to him, but were left with the reveal that Coin's record collection had been destroyed and he was no where to be seen. Hearing about the GG's in Toyko-to, Combo and Cube came there to request help from Beat, Gum, Corn and the rest of the crew.

Combo and Cube are the main characters of Chapter 2, with players only able to select between them for the flashback levels in that chapter, with Combo narrating the entire story during this period.

Jet Set Radio Future[]

In Jet Set Radio Future, Cube gets an expanded role as an antagonist.

DJ Professor K refers to her as The Master of rival gang Poison Jam, shrouding her true identity in mystery. She begins by wearing a helmet with a similar design to the Poison Jam's monster masks. It is revealed that she was originally the leader of a different rival gang, Rapid 99, with her defection causing an intense eternal rivalry between Rapid 99 and Poison Jam as a result.

It's also revealed that either Cube, or Poison Jam under Cube's instruction are the one's responsible for the disappearance of the Goddess statue of Dogenzaka Hill, a landmark on the GG's turf. After the GG's defeat Poison Jam and retrieve the statue, Cube leaves Poison Jam due to them not being able to handle the GG's.

Cube later shows up and indirectly aids the GG's by revealing Yoyo has been replaced by an advanced Noise Tank dressed up in Yoyo's clothing to infiltrate the group. She later joins the gang upon the player beating her challenge.

Trivia[]

  • Cube has a different outfit in the Japanese version of Jet Set Radio compared to the American version. She is the only character to have a different aesthetic change.
  • Cube refers to her bulky poison jam henchmen in Jet Set Radio Future as 'far...sexier than most average folk' indicating she might have a type.
  • Despite being a protagonist in the original Jet Set Radio, Cube is very much antagonistic towards the GG's in Jet Set Radio Future, even threatening to feed the GG's to Poison Jam in a stew as a treat for her gang.
